Bilateral Trade between India and Bulgaria

The volume of trade (import and export) between India and Bulgaria is increasing. Total bilateral trade between the two countries stood at US $ 421.75 million in the financial year 2016-17. This was a phenomenal 76 % increase over the previous year 2015-16. Table 1 below gives the trade figures for the past 5 years.

Exports from India to Bulgaria

India exported goods worth US $ 239.53 million to Bulgaria in the financial year 2016-17. This was a 65 % increase over the exports in the previous year.

Major products exported from India to Bulgaria are organic chemicals, engineering goods, finished metal products, pharmaceuticals and plastic products.

Bulgaria exported goods worth US $ 182.22 million in 2016-17. This was an approx. 95 % increase over the previous year 2015-16.

Major products exported by Bulgaria to India are cereals, essential oils (used in perfumery and cosmetics), inorganic chemicals, machinery and electrical goods.
